To produce generator repair, it must be removed from the car. To disassemble the generator. We unscrew the three bolts, gently tapping with a hammer, half it.

Inspect the anchor for a short circuit. To do this, we lean the probe of the tester to the ring of the contact and generator cover. No contact should be observed here..

Solder the winding. We heat three contacts with a soldering iron, open it. As a rule, the winding in the case lies firmly, and it is required to get it out by striking the winding case carefully with a hammer. We call all this winding – the winding conclusions between themselves should be called, on the case this should not be.

Now remove the plastic cover, it closes brushes and diode bridge. We unscrew this diode bridge together with the charging relay and brushes. Unscrew the nut with a key to “8”. In the cover, these brushes are held tight, therefore, they must be removed from the back, striking with a flat screwdriver.

A few words about the device generator. As you know, the generator is capable of generating alternating current. Therefore, in order to rectify it (to get “plus” and “minus”), a diode bridge is required. But the diodes are designed so that they pass electric current in one direction, but not in the other. It turns out that the alternating electric current is just subdivided into “+” and “-“. At the base of the diode bridge there are 2 plates: one bolt that is responsible for the output (positive) is attached, and the other is attached to the generator housing (minus).

We examine the diode bridge. We form the tester switch into the continuity mode (measure the resistance). To do this, we lean one probe of the tester against the negative plate of the bridge, and the second probe is displayed on the winding. In this case, the tester should demonstrate a unit (or swap probes). Thus, the diodes were checked in one direction. Next you will find feedback.

We change these probes, the tester will display a value from 450 to 650. With parameters 0.00 or 1, the diode bridge is considered to be faulty. We perform this procedure with a plus plate, the same values ​​should be on the scoreboard. With a different outcome, change the diode bridge to a new one.

Only here, the charging relay can not be checked at home. Therefore, if the diode bridge, brushes, armature, winding are OK, then replace the charging relay.

Now we collect the generator. In advance, the conclusions on the winding must be tinned, a soldering iron should be processed on all the conclusions of the winding. Solder the winding to the terminals of the bridge with good quality. In order to install the anchor without breaking the brushes, it is necessary to insert a wire into the opening of the housing, initially pushing graphite brushes inside.

Having assembled the equipment, connect the battery, start the car, check the voltage on the battery. The generator working at the moment of switching on the headlights, fan, stove at maximum mode should supply voltage to the battery less than 14.8 V.
