Mercedes-Benz A-Class 2

The first generation of the model, introduced back in 1997, belonged to the B-class and was produced in the hatchback body. The second-generation model already belonged to class A and went on sale in 2004. And in 2013, the public was presented with a third-generation model of the A-class, which will become available to motorists almost around the world in 2015.

It is obvious that when working on the exterior design of the new third-generation, the Mercedes design team relied on a fast-moving sports style and did not fail. The novelty has an elongated hood, on the sides of the car there are pronounced stamping. The rear rack of a small width is located strictly vertically. As an additional option, the future owners of the 2015 A-Class also have a panoramic roof ending above a row of front seats. It is noteworthy that in the third-generation car, the roof has become noticeably lower.

A large three-beam star is located on the radiator grill. As standard, two chrome-plated horizontal strips are also installed on the grill. In Sport, they are replaced with one wider lane. The front bumper is a fairing with air intakes installed on it, in the holes of which the same grille with large cells is installed as in the radiator. Most often, such a design solution is used in sports cars..

The lightweight sporty style is maintained in the interior of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. This becomes most obvious when looking at rounded-shaped deflectors made in a sporting manner with chrome trim. The steering wheel is three-spoke, which also corresponds to the sporting spirit of design. The steering wheel also has a decorative aluminum insert.

The third-generation Mercedes landing was lower than in the previous two generations. In addition to a sporty fit, a rather pronounced lateral support of the seats indicates a sporty style. Seat upholstery made of two contrasting colors.

The technical characteristics that appeared in the Mercedes-Benz A-class after equipping it with new engines., A transmission and driver assistance systems, allow us to call the car a completely new, and not just the next generation of a well-known model.

As before, a MacPherson type suspension was used as the front suspension, and a multi-link suspension, not often found in this class, as the rear. Such a suspension allows the installation of all-wheel drive, although initially, the model in the third generation is available only with front-wheel drive. This unusual solution allowed us to avoid strong manifestations of vertical buildup…

In addition to standard security systems, the third-generation model can be additionally equipped with a special warning system about an obstacle in front. At the same time, the system does not affect the controllability of the car, only in the brake circuits significantly increases the pressure. Due to this, emergency braking, which can be undertaken in the event of a real obstacle on the road, will be more effective.

The A-class of the third generation has a rather extensive line of power units – it has 4 gasoline engines and 3 diesel engines. The base diesel engine is a 1.4-liter diesel engine with 109 hp. The most powerful diesel engine of the CDI system has a working volume of 1.8 liters, and its power value reaches 136 hp.

The range of gasoline engines starts with a 1.5 liter engine and 122 hp. The next – the same volume engine with different turbo settings, it is capable of developing power of 156 hp.

A two-liter engine, developing already 211 hp, is usually installed in the Sport configuration. At the same time, it is equipped with an exclusively robotic transmission with 7 steps. For other modifications, a mechanical transmission with 6 steps is available.
