Mercedes-Benz B class
The pre-production release of this model took place in 2004 in Paris. Serial was released a year later in 2005 and was presented to the world public at the Geneva Motor Show. If we consider the entire range of Mercedes-Benz, then this model has occupied the so-called intermediate position between the Mercedes-Benz A class and the Mercedes-Benz C class. As for the body, this hatchback is available in only five door versions. The developers of this model worked very hard on the design of this car, trying to create a car with an independent character, distinguished from its shop mates by its elegant, sophisticated design and high technical characteristics.
The platform, which has undergone no major improvements, including an increase, was borrowed from the A class. Thus, the size of the car was 4m27cm, the length of the car, 1 m 78 cm, its width and height 1m 60.4 cm. If we compare it with the A class, the car turned out to be 4.5 cm longer and 2.1 cm longer in the wheelbase 2778mm. Without exaggeration, this model can be called unique because it significantly exceeds similar-sized passenger cars in terms of cabin comfort.
In addition, due to transformations, an increase in useful space inside the machine is possible. The reason for this is the great ability to transform the rear seat. It can be removed, folded or folded down and therefore the luggage compartment volume ranges from 545 liters. up to 2250 liters as for the external characteristics of the car, this model is the owner of a large windshield providing excellent road vision. Swiftness is given to the model by slightly slanted headlights located on the sides of the wedge-shaped hood. The radiator grill is painted in the main color of the machine with company logos at the top. A slightly curved shape of the roof not only creates additional spaciousness inside the car, but also gives it sporting features.
The back of the car looks no less impressive, which is worth its wide track in combination with convex wheel arches.
With regard to the variety of powertrains, the following samples can be distinguished: three petrol samples, two of which are 1.5 and 1.7 in volume with a power of 95 and 115 horsepower and one turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 195 horses and a volume of 2 liters. This sample is able to accelerate the car to 100 in just 7.5 seconds. At a maximum speed of 225 km / h. And two diesel engines, with a capacity of 140 and 109 horses, with a volume of 2 and 1.8 liters. The consumption of these engines is only 6.5 liters when driving on the highway and 7.5 in the combined cycle.
The entire series of power units is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox; optionally, mechanics can be replaced with a machine.
