Renault Twizy 2

The Twizy concept from the French company Renault was introduced back in 2009 at an exhibition in Germany. After this show, a company from France announced to the whole world that it was going to mass-produce this machine. Then the Geneva exhibition was another confirmation of Renault about the seriousness of the statements.

Renault TWIZY is attributed to the segment of heavy four-wheeled vehicles, but it was tested as a full-fledged passenger car. He passed tests for frontal, side and frontal collisions. Renault Twizy looks rather elaborate and extraordinary. So, it is small in size, a cute face, wheels on the sides, a lambo door and a scooter chair.

The most important trump card of the car, according to the ideas of the company, is a small size. The overall dimensions of the Renault Twizy are as follows: the machine has a length of 2337 mm, a width of just over a meter, and a height of up to 1.5 meters. The wheelbase of the baby is only 1684 mm. At the same time, the ride height of the mini-car is not very small, and it is 12 cm. Without batteries, Renault Twizy has a weight of about 450 kilograms.

The interior of the Renault Twizy is the realm of minimalism. So, on the dashboard there is only one display, a steering wheel having four spokes, and several control buttons. It should be noted that this car model involves the transport of two passengers at once. They sit directly one after another. To store any small rubbish in the car, several compartments are provided near the steering wheel and behind the first seat. Do not write off the luggage compartment, which has a size of about 180 liters.

On a small French car, one of two power units can be installed. The first option is to equip the machine with an electric motor with a capacity of 17 horsepower, which gives a maximum torque of about 57 Nm. With such a motor Renault Twizy can pick up speed at 80 km / h. The second version of the power unit is even weaker and its power is 5 horsepower. In this case, the maximum torque reaches 33 Nm. The maximum that you can squeeze on a Renault Twizy with this engine is 45 km / h.

The front seat covers a whole set of batteries with a total capacity of 7 kWh. Such a capacity, according to the company’s calculations, should be enough for 100-120 kilometers, but the practice is not to stick to the calculations, and in reality, a car can travel only 50-80 kilometers. To restore the entire charge, you need to spend about 3.5 hours.

Renault Twizy has no power steering. However, the car has a fully independent suspension, as well as disc brakes.

In Europe, Renault Twizy can be bought for 7240 euros. In this case, the use of batteries will have to pay 50 euros per month. In Russia, the company’s car can also be bought, but its price due to batteries will increase by about half.
