Hatchback and Ford Fiesta Sedan
We will try to convey the first sensations of the Ford Fiesta in different versions: a sedan and a hatchback. There is practically no significant difference between the performances. It is amazing that cars are identical and absolutely different at the same time. When you are driving, the lack of an additional door is almost not noticed.
First, we will try the initial impression of motorists of different age categories. It so happened that both a sedan and a hatchback were noticed by young people and people at the same time. The youth liked the hatchback more, but the sedan was intrigued by the age-old taxi drivers. The most curious thing is that in just a few minutes a study was organized, over which marketers worked for more than one day. Drivers aged noticed that the sedan is economical and practical, you can use it like a taxi. But the hatchback was accepted as a youthful and fashionable car. It’s hard to disagree: the Fiesta has always boasted a classy look and excellent handling. Well, the sedan boasts a conservative design.
By technical characteristics, the models are practically no different – identical power units, similar gearboxes, even the cost is similar. But the sedan and hatchback are perceived differently.
The sedan can be liked with a lower loading height (taxi drivers especially like this) and a wider opening. The fundamental difference between the models is the trunk. The cargo part of the sedan came out spacious. Trunk size 450 liters. The hatchback looks more modest – the size is only 295 liters.
As for handling, it is hard not to notice that the updated generation of the Fiesta feels more comfortable and softer on Russian bumps. The machine easily overcomes bumps and rushes along the primer. The steering wheel responds to any touch. In many ways, this is also the merit of high-quality rubber. Wheel disks are remarkably made, but the manufacturer clearly did not guess with the dimensions. The wheels themselves can not be seen against the background of the overall body.
A separate conversation about the dynamic properties of cars. The tests were carried out on cars with a 105-horsepower power unit, in the duet with which a manual transmission was delivered and with a 120-horsepower engine, in a compartment with which there was a Powershift automatic transmission. You can immediately notice that outside the city 105 horsepower is not enough, but on the city roads – more than enough. But the sedan with fewer horses was not so voracious. In the metropolis, the car gobbled up 9.5 liters per hundred, and on the suburban highway, the fuel consumption indicator showed a mark of 6.5 liters.
