Overview and features of the Volga Roadster car
The Volga Roadster is a representative of the Soviet automobile industry and belongs to the middle class. The GAZ 24 was produced from 1970 to 1993, during this period three generations of the model were produced: the first from 1970 to 1977, the second from 1977 to 1985, and the last was produced from 1986 to 1993. For the long period when the car was on the conveyor, manufacturers released many different modifications and made many improvements to the design. As a result, the GAZ 24 body can be represented by a four-door sedan or a five-door station wagon.
The very first Volga 2401 sedan was designed for taxi services and received a taximeter, a leatherette trim, a green light and an 85-horsepower engine. The second was the GAZ 2402 station wagon – it was another modification for taxi services. As a transmission to the Volga Roadster, a 4-speed manual gearbox was installed. The export version of this model was released in a circulation of 1000 copies and got the right wheel.
The GAZ 24 car body and its technical part received major changes with the release of the last third-generation model marked “2410”. However, this is not enough for many car owners, that’s why they do tuning Volga GAZ 2410.
For the latest generation, manufacturers have offered only two engine options with a displacement of 2.0 liters and a capacity of 90 and 100 hp. All improvements to the suspension of an improved car were aimed only at improving directional stability, as well as at the possibility of installing wide wheels. The braking system survived the modernization, as a result of which there were wheels with plastic caps, tubeless radial tires and a wider rim. The front dimensions were moved to the headlights, and the front doors got rid of the vents. The lever of the “parking brake” was moved to a place in the middle of the front seats (previously located under the dashboard).
At one time, this car rake was very popular, which today confirms the Volga GAZ 2410 tuning, which is carried out by car owners, installing special decorative thresholds, an aerodynamic body kit, stainless steel kennel, front protection, metal protective body kit, etc. Some owners, in an effort to make more dramatic changes, even decide to install the Volvo bridge on the Volga. I must say that this, of course, makes sense only before deciding on such an upgrade, keep in mind that such tuning requires some alterations. It is necessary to weld the Volga pads to the Volvo bridge, and also part the brake pipes and remake the parking brake cable. In principle, that’s all. Only if you decide to buy a Volvo bridge on the Volga, take into account the fact that it is better to buy it with calipers, since they are very expensive.
